A Word About Me

Twenty-five years in M&A, corporate development and transformation – lived from the inside, not observed from a safe distance. I've led acquisitions from $15m to $200m at a public technology company, run P&L for a $150m business inside a Fortune 200 healthcare unit, and led corporate development for PE-owned software and services companies on deals up to $1b. I’ve helped teams build their own internal capability for M&A, finance and transformation work, and I’ve built and run my own businesses – many went nowhere, which is its own kind of education.

Startups pay me to advise them today, and I mentor founders through George Washington University's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I'm also the past president of the National Association of Women Business Owners – DC, where I led the merger of the DC and Northern Virginia chapters during my term.

Along the way I've led global teams of 50 to 150 people, restructured finance organizations of hundreds, and resolved revenue recognition issues worth tens of millions. I’ve also despaired over making payroll for employees who counted on me for the roof over their heads, when I was running out of money, myself.

Today, I bring my buyer and operator's lenses to founders, owners, leadership teams, and PE firms – helping them decide where to aim, how to structure growth and how to build companies that are attractive to investors and acquirers without being deal-driven. My edge is as a strategic and operating sounding board who is fluent in capital markets and exits. When the work calls for specialists, I bring in the right people – but the accountability stays with me.
